Meet Kate!
Having grown up in Perth, my father would travel to the Kimberley for fishing trips. I knew about the Kimberley, but it wasn’t until 2014 when I was fortunate enough to experience The Kimberley for myself.
In 2014 I came to Kununurra for a “short” 3-week working holiday, which turned into an unbelievable 7 years. It was the picturesque landscapes and the freedom that attracted me to stay in this town.
It wasn’t long after coming to Kununurra, I met Brad and he introduced me to Fishing. In 2015 I had caught my first Barramundi, which ended up being 110cm which was an incredible experience, and something to brag about to my family and friends.
Moving forward to 2021, Brad and I have opened a new chapter in our life and we welcome you join us on our adventure. You may not see me on your charter but I am working behind the scenes to ensure you enjoy your tour, with East Kimberley Charters.
Meet Brad!
Born and raised in Kununurra in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, I am extremely proud to call this place home. My passion for fishing started from a very young age. My father, Dick Pasfield a keen Kimberley angler would take my brother and I with him on his fishing adventures exploring the Ord River which then expanded to exploring the Cambridge Gulf on the hunt for Barramundi.
Over the years my fishing techniques have developed from bait fishing, to lure fishing. It’s the thrill of hunting the fish, feeling it hit the line and fighting it out of the snags that attracts me to lure fishing.
In 2015 I was lucky enough to meet Kate and since then we have travelled Australia, purchased our first home in Kununurra together and had a great opportunity to start East Kimberley Charters in 2021.
My experience and my passion for sustainable fishing practices has naturally led me to wanting to share the East Kimberley as a “go to” fishing destination to those who would not normally have the opportunity to experience this beautiful part of the country. Ultimately, I want to create lifelong memories for those who would like to join me.
